About
This award will go to the print company that has done most to improve its environmental performance during the period under review. The judges will be looking for evidence of the programmes or changes implemented, and of the measurable results of these changes. Please supply all relevant information that will substantiate your environmental achievement, including a 500-word summary and a copy of your company’s environmental policy.
Criteria
The period under review is April 2010 to the end of March 2011. It is worth noting that the judges of this category are environmental specialists and this will be the only category they judge, so highly detailed submissions are not only accepted, but welcomed. However, remember to use your 500 word summary to highlight your achievements and their impact and then reference the supporting evidence so that judges do not miss any of the critical information. Sensitive information will be kept confidential, see rule 5.
Rules
1 You may enter as many different categories as you wish, however, you may only enter the same category once.
2 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3 All entrants must be registered companies in the UK.
4 The entrant must have been consistently trading solvently since 1 July 2009
5 Confidentiality will be respected and all judges will sign a non-disclosure agreement, but winning case studies may be written up and published in PrintWeek based on the material provided, so please mark sensitive information 'not for publication'.
Judges Tips
Data illustrating clearly defined measurable results of environmental improvement are critical in this category. Use your 500 word summary to highlight initiatives, but please remember to include as much substantive evidence as possible.
If you have secured standards or accreditations in the qualifying period, do not just mention them, but include evidence of the improvements you initiated to give the judges a real understanding of what you achieved rather than just fact that you achieved it.
Statements of intent are helpful, but real comparative data is needed by the judges to assess the entry. Hard data detailing improvements in terms of what was achieved and how it was achieved as well as evidence of how it impacted your environmental performance and bottom line performance are what will win the judges over.
Requirements
- Three copies of the competed entry form
- 500 word summary
- Detailed evidence of environmental improvements.
